Parking Regulations

Residents are reminded to remove ALL vehicles from Township-maintained roadways during winter weather events. Per the Township Code, there is NO PARKING permitted on public roads during municipal snow removal operations (see Willistown Township Code §108, Snow Emergencies). Vehicles parked on the roadway interfere with plowing and salting operations and may be ticketed and/or towed.

Township Operations

The health and safety of Willistown residents, motorists, and Township employees is our top priority. With the expected accumulation totals, snow removal will take longer than usual. Township crews will work as quickly as possible to get roads cleared safely. Please avoid unnecessary travel, use caution when driving, and stay at least six car lengths back and away from plows. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, blankets, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Stay Safe When Heating Your Home #WinterReady

Power Outages & Heating Safety

Wind and heavy snow may cause power outages in our region. Please call your electric provider (not 9-1-1) to report a power outage. To report downed power lines and outages to PECO, visit peco.com/outages or call 1-800-841-4141.

NEVER use a generator, camp stove, charcoal grill, gasoline or propane heater indoors. NEVER heat a home by using the stovetop or oven. Doing so can increase the risk of burns, fires, and carbon monoxide poisoning. Keep generators outside and at least 20 feet away from doors, windows, and vents to avoid accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

Snow Removal Reminders

Avoid overexertion when shoveling snow! Dress in layers, stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, and consult your doctor if you have a heart condition.

It is a homeowner’s responsibility to maintain public sidewalks which abut their property and keep sidewalks free of snow and ice (see Willistown Township Code §119-39, §119-40.)  Residents are reminded to clear their sidewalks or walkways within 24 hours after the conclusion of a snow/ice event. Clear outside furnace, stove, fireplace, and dryer vents of snow. Maintain five feet of clearance around fire hydrants.
