Upcoming Recycling Events

Willistown Township will host one more event in 2025 - Document Shredding, and *NEW* for 2025, Battery Recycling - Saturday, November 15, 9 am to 12 noon. Due to construction by the Public Works garage, the Document Shredding and Battery Recycling event will be held at Greentree Park - 21 Grubb Road.

Did you know you should never put rechargeable or lithium batteries in the trash or recycling bin? They can catch fire if punctured or crushed.  In fact, there have been several instances of trash trucks and fires at the Lanchester landfill attributed to battery fires. Our battery recycling event is sponsored by Chester County Solid Waste Authority and there is no cost to residents. Please read below on what types of batteries are accepted and how to prepare them for the event.

Note we are NOT accepting alkaline batteries, acid lead batteries that power cars and boats, batteries larger than 25 lbs. or encased batteries such as those found in laptops, vapes and cell phones. Regular alkaline batteries (AA, C, D, 9V batteries) can be safely thrown in the trash.

Reach our with questions or comments.  See you on November 15!
