MUSIC Founded in 2014, Beg Borrow and Steel has become a highly requested “beach band” and continues to bring their tropical infused coolness to the region. The band takes classic rock sounds of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s and injects their own unique vibe. By using traditional rock and roll instrumentation and adding the nontraditional sounds of steel drums and congas, BB&S offers something a bit different from your standard cover band.
The musical diversity is woven into a unique tapestry of art and entertainment. Music from Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley to The Beatles and The Stones, and Zac Brown to the Grateful Dead is turned into summer-time, beach band fun.
FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS We are pleased to feature local music as well as food from the Gourmet Jerk Shack (Caribbean BBQ with kids options), Scoops N Smiles Ice Cream, Locust Lane Craft Brewery, and La Famiglia Cellars.
IMPORTANT NOTES No food or outside drinks including alcohol, please. Kindly leave your four-legged friends at home. Please bring a food donation for the Chester County Food Bank. See you in the park!

HISTORIC BUS TOUR A SUCCESS Willistown Participates in Chester County's 28th Annual Town Tours and Village Walks Program

Congratulations to Willistown's Historical Commission on a wonderful event led by their Chair, Bart VanValkenburgh, pictured lower left with Terry Kyle, former board member and Chair. A good time was had by all 180 passengers and our team of volunteers.
The 13-mile, 30-minute historic tour of Willistown was part of the 2022 Chester County Planning Department's Town Tours and Village Walks program, and it took a village to put it on. Willistown Historical Commission members working the event with Bart included Greg Prichard, Marie Mimi Quinn, Sharon Sukonick, Jody Vandegrift, and Dave Hopkins. Parks and Recreation Board members included Denise VanValkenburgh leading the registration and ticketing process and tour bus guides Bill Unrath and Ken Lehr. Planning Department members Nancy Shields, Bill Deguffroy, and Joe Shanley were outstanding additions to the event and wonderful at the check in table.
We extend special thanks to historic Radnor Hunt and Doug Hill, manager, for being a wonderful staging spot and host for the Tour. Thanks also go to the 1883 Foundation of Radnor Hunt, Historic Sugartown, Willistown Conservation Trust, and Philadelphia Print Shop for exhibiting in the club house; to the Radnor Hounds for making an appearance; and, to Willistown Scout Troop 78 for handling the parking. We were happy to be a part of this celebration of Chester County's history, and it's not over yet. The County's tour continues through the summer. Find the full schedule of events here and there are brochures while supplies last at Township Administration, 688 Sugartown Road, Malvern as well as Chester County libraries.

CHESTER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT Feedback Request from Director Jeanne Franklin
According the Director Franklin, Chester County is a hotbed for ticks that can carry Lyme and other disease. Ticks can be found in most rural and urban areas. A ChesCo Health Department intern is conducting a community-based survey to understand the knowledge and experience Chester County residents have about Lyme disease. The results of the survey will inform how the Health Department retools its community education and leverages partnerships around addressing Lyme. If you are a Chester County resident, please consider taking this brief survey: Lyme Disease Survey

Don't let the ticks keep you from getting outside for some fresh-air fun. Tick checks are easy. There are also a wide variety of bug repellents available.

SLOW DOWN IN WILLISTOWN Horse Safety
Equestrian road safety is paramount. Willistown is different than other Philadelphia suburbs because of the significant open space and many horses it supports. Drivers must take heed around horses but may not know why and likely don't know much about horses at all. Here is a brief informational and safety video from equestrians and traffic police in England where many more horses are found in and along road sides.
