Thank You Kelly Tickner & the Fox Hollow Trail Team!Kelly, above left with the day's haul, is a Willistown resident and number one fan of Fox Hollow Trail. Wanting to give back, she contacted Willistown Parks and Rec, and the Fox Hollow Trail Team was born. The inaugural outing brought smiles and a light bulb or two ;) We also thank the leadership at Daylesford Abbey for agreeing to this effort.

A Native Eastern Redbud at Okehocking Greets Spring You're not the only one who wonders why they're called "Redbuds". The Eastern Redbud is named for where it grows, in eastern North America, and the cheery "red" flower buds along the stems that bloom pink before the leaves emerge. No matter what color we see, the true beauty of this tree is it's joyful announcement of Spring.

Spring Greetings Parks and Recreation Friends, We are thrilled to share Breaking Good News!
Willistown Parks & Recreation volunteers are greatly appreciated, and we have a ball together to boot. It's a wonderful experience getting outside as a community team on a mission to help the places that we love. Our trash and invasive plant management activities generally happen before the plants leaf out so we can easily get around and see the trash. Stay tuned to our Breaking Good News Enews for more clean up opportunities coming this fall and winter.
Meanwhile, we are once again partnering with Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association (CRC) on a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources funded tree planting at Okehocking Preserve on Friday May 6 from 1-4PM and Saturday May 7 from 9AM to noon. Please contact me for more info and to register. We'll keep you posted through our Enews as well.On the recreation front, our Willistown Summer Fun Camps are nearing capacity with a few weekly camps closed but a handful of all summer full and half time slots are open. There's room in the week-long Philly Union Soccer camp, so please sign up soon. Scroll on for more info.
Programming-wise, this is the 10th anniversary of our award-winning GO WilMa! Outdoor Adventure Program...my, how time flies when we are having fun! Stay tuned for more info, and mark your calendars for the program's kickoff at our School's Out—Let's GO WilMa! Park Party at Greentree Park on June 21st from 5-8PM.
If there is a park, preserve, or trail that you are passionate about, like Kelly, and you want to volunteer, please contact me. And, as always, I am available to hear suggestions or concerns.
Happy longer days,
