Thanksgiving Greetings, Willistown Parks & Recreation friends.
We are thankful for you and our partners, play areas, and preserves. Our mission is to celebrate community and enrich life through people, parks, and programs. We endeavor to foster healthy minds, bodies, and spirits by encouraging a love of being outdoors and a connection to nature. "How do you do that?", you may ask. Simply by creating lasting, happy memories there, and Willistown is an outstanding place for it!
One of the things that makes Willistown so special is it's variety of publicly accessible open spaces and recreational areas as well as the privately protected lands. These special places and pastoral views are a result of decades of conservation efforts and preservation partnerships.
Willistown Township has leveraged millions of dollars in funding from Chester County, the State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund to the Willistown Open Space Fund for the purchase of our cherished public land. It takes a community with a conservation ethic, non-profits with preservation missions, and governments with quality of life priorities to create and sustain special places like Willistown.
You'll find an article below about a celebration of the decades-long partnership between Willistown Conservation Trust and the Township held at Kirkwood Preserve recently. We also have links and info to our year-end GO WilMa! 2020: The Adventure Continues and the Willistown Community Yoga programs below.
I am personally very thankful to work for this wonderful community, and, as always, I welcome your thoughts and questions.
Happy Thanksgiving, and I'll see you in the park!Mary Willistown Township Parks & Recreation Director 610-647-5300 x224 Email
