*10/19 UPDATE* This week, PECO had put gas on the new 12” steel on the Pattison Lane side of Paoli Pike . They had also completed an 8” tie-in. On Monday, we brought in a service crew to begin that work and have roughly 15 services left to complete. Once this work is completed and the other 8” tie-in, we will be ready to abandon the existing gas main. The plan is to complete this project the week of the 29th.
*9/17 UPDATE* All but one of the services were completed this week which means were not able to complete the main abandonment as discussed in email below. Once we will have a meeting to further discuss the completion of this service, we will come back to this area to run the new line up the property, followed by the main abandonment. Since we will be moving back to the other project for now, it was decided to backfill the main abandonment holes so the area is kept safe while we were working on the other project. When we do come back to this job, the service and main abandonment should be completed within a week. Our hopes to have everything completed at this location by the week of October 29th.
On Monday September 17th, the crew will work on finishing the project that is between Grubb Road and Pattison Lane. The plan is to stay on this job and complete in full prior to moving back over to phase 4. We will have roughly 300’ of 12” steel main to install and will then be able to put gas on the new main. The service work will follow after this is completed then the existing main abandonment. We are going to try and complete this job in the area of October 24th.
Flaggers will continue to control traffic on this project and the hours of work will be from 9am-3pm.
*4/30 UPDATE* This week we will continue installing the new gas main on Paoli Pike starting in the area of Rustmont Drive. We should be at the intersection of Devon Road & Paoli Pike by the end of the week. When working in this busy intersection, we will have an additional flagger onsite. There is a possibility we might dig additional test holes near the creek one day during the week.
*4/16 UPDATE* As of now, ULS has installed approximately 550’ of 12” steel on Paoli Pike b/t Grubb Road and Rustmont Drive. This week the crew will continue installing the new main on Paoli Pike towards Devon Road. There will be one day this week the crew will be digging test holes near the area of our directional drill. The plan is to continue with one crew on the project.
PECO has informed the Township of a project to upgrade natural gas equipment and improve service. This work includes replacing existing natural gas main and/or service lines with new underground pipe, which enhances safety, is more durable and improves service reliability.
Work is expected to begin on or about March 12th on Paoli Pike between Grubb Road and Devon Road. The work will take place Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Work will occur in the roadway and shoulder. PECO anticipates the project will be completed in five to six months.
PECO plans additional work to begin later this year, including the replacement of natural gas mains along Paoli Pike just west of Devon Road and just east of Sugartown Road. Please monitor our website and social media for future announcements about this work.
This project will be performed by Utility Line Services Inc., a qualified PECO contractor. If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact Joe Favarulo of Utility Line Services at 610-636-0174.
