[ARCHIVED] Public Notice - Deerfield Knoll Wastewater Treatment Plant

In accordance with the requirement of the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act No. 537, Willistown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania is preparing to submit to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP) a Sewage Facilities Planning Act 537 Special Study to address the decommissioning of the Deerfield Knoll Wastewater Treatment Plant and the diversion of flow to the Willistown Woods Wastewater Treatment Plant. Both plants are owned and operated by Aqua Pennsylvania Wastewater. 

 The Special Study is designed to provide for the decommissioning of the Deerfield Knoll Wastewater Treatment Plant which provides wastewater service to all of the properties in the Deerfield Knoll Homeowner's Association, and conveyance of flows to the Willistown Woods WWTP by upgrading the existing pump station on Cohasset Ln and installing a new force main which will be located mostly within the West Chester Pike road right-of-way. These improvements will be reflected in a future rate case study submitted to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission which will render a decision regarding any rate increase which may be approved. 

 The 30-day public comment period has been established commencing on the date of this advertisement. The general public may review the Special Study between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Willistown Township Building, 688 Sugartown Road, Malvern, PA 19355.

The Special Study is also available for review on the Township website (www.willistown.pa.us) Written comments from the public regarding the Special Study may be forwarded to Shanna Lodge, Willistown Township Manager, at the above address or to comments@willistown.pa.us. All written comments must be received prior to the end of the 30-day public comment period. All written comments will be addressed prior to submitting the Special Study to the PaDEP.
