Supervisors to Appoint Tax Collector on January 22, 2018

As you may be aware, one resident was elected to fill two positions during the last municipal election. Under State Law, no person shall at the same time hold more than one elective township office. On January 2, 2018, the individual filed the oath of office for Township Auditor, resulting in a vacancy in the Tax Collector position.

State Law provides for the Board of Supervisors to appoint an elector to fill that position within 30-days of the vacancy.  Therefore, the Board of Supervisors intends to fill the vacancy in the position of elected Tax Collector during the regular meeting at 7:00 PM on January 22, 2018 in the Municipal Meeting Room at 688 Sugartown Road, Malvern, PA.  This is the last Supervisors’ meeting scheduled before the end of the 30-day period.

Any resident who is an elector of the Township and has resided in the Township continuously for at least one year prior to the appointment may be appointed to fill the position. If interested in the position please send an expression of interest and a resume (if available) to Dave Burman, Township Manager.

* Please note that the Township has been utilizing the Chester County Treasurer’s Office to insure the proper receipt and collection of all real estate taxes.
