UPDATE Public Hearing - Keeping of Animals w/ Transcript

UPDATE: The Public Meeting Transcript from the Hearing on the Keeping of Animals Ordinance revision is provided on the Township website by special permission from the Court Reporter.

Thank you to those who attended Monday’s public hearing concerning the keeping of animals. With well over 100 people in attendance, Bill Shoemaker, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, began by announcing that the Board would not be adopting the proposed Ordinance that evening. The Township's Planner, John Gaadt, then gave a detailed presentation on the proposal. The Board then opened the floor to comments from the public. Many of those in attendance, including the Supervisors, expressed concerns with the proposed Ordinance. In light of the large number of comments, the Board referred the matter back to the Willistown Township Planning Commission for further consideration. Future meetings will be posted on our website and social media pages. Please feel free to sign up for automatic notifications by clicking "Notify Me" on the lower left of the webpage. In the meantime, feel free to email comments@willistown.pa.us using "Ordinance- Animals" as the subject line, or call with additional questions or comments, or just to let the Township know where you stand on this issue.
