Historic American Beech Tree Succumbs to Beech Bark Disease

The first tree on our list of Historic Trees fell victim to “Beech Bark Disease”.  We received the call late morning on Monday.  We were informed that nothing could be done to save the tree, which had become a safety concern due to its proximity to both Paoli Pike and Cedar Hollow Road. The tree was estimated to be approximately 280-340 years old.
